The mission of Invest in Children is to mobilize resources and energy to ensure
the well-being of all young children in Cuyahoga County, provide supportive
services to parents and caregivers, and build awareness, momentum, and
advocacy in the community around children and family issues.
The vision of Invest in Children is to ensure that all children in Cuyahoga County
reach their full potential, nurtured by families sensitive to their needs and supported
by a community committed to their success.
The Center for Early Childhood Development Implementation Plan was recently
submitted to the Governor and Superintendent Delisle. You can view the plan at
www.build-ohio.org. The link to the plan is on the front page of the website. The
purpose of this proposed implementation is to provide the governor and superintendent
of public instruction with recommendations, strategic direction and supportive
documentation regarding the creation of the Center for Early Childhood Development
within the Ohio Department of Education.
Please encourage your colleagues and/or members to sign up on the Build website to
receive early childhood updates directly.
SWINE FLU ALERT
NAEYC has been working closely with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as the
CDC has been considering the implications of the flu pandemic for early childcare. With
the recent outbreak of the swine influenza, the Center for Disease Control has requested
that NAEYC inform our community of the following precautions to prevent the potential
spread of swine influenza.
For more detailed information about what child care providers should be doing to prevent the
potential infection or spread of this disease, please click here. For up-to-date information, please
see the CDC's Web site.
